Soros: cryptocurrency made for the rulers of dictatorships, while blockchain is useful

Billionaire George Soros thinks that blockchain is very beneficial for solving the problems of migrants: it helps to contaсt with their relatives abroad and secure savings. He said this at the world economic forum in Davos, Switzerland.

However, the powerful entrepreneur who even sometimes becomes a part of conspirological theories made a small conspirological theory himself: when talking about cryptocurrencies, he told they exist “for the rulers of dictatorships”, quite possibly also referencing to the fact that Kim Jong-un and his recruited hackers were spotted stealing cryptocurrency from the neighbouring South Korea throughout the past year. George Soros also reminded about how cryptocurrency is widely used to evade taxes.

Influential and conservative billionaires usually do not want to see any benefits of digital currencies. Both Warren Buffett and Michael Bloomberg already expressed their views on Bitcoin, and while they say that Bitcoin does not deserve so much attention, Mr. Bloomberg advised to look into blockchain technologies which underlie Bitcoin.
