Who is Testing the Digital Yuan?

A meeting was held in the Chinese province Hebei on Wednesday regarding the launch of a pilot project of the Chinese Digital Yuan Initiative. The meeting was attended by representatives of government agencies, state-owned commercial banks of China, Ant Financial and Tencent, as well as 19 restaurants, entertainment and retail stores. All of them will take part in testing digital currency.

Transnational brands Starbucks and McDonalds are among the restaurants and retail stores that will participate in testing the digital currency of China's central bank. Earlier it became known that the Agricultural Bank of China has already developed a test user interface for the DC / EP wallet, which shows how the transaction with the digital yuan will be carried out. Wallet testing was conducted in Chengdu, Suzhou, Shenzhen and the Xiong'An new district.

The steps taken by China prove the commitment of deploying the digital currency project. It is not reported yet when testing will begin and how long it will last.
