Walmart Is Looking For A Cryptocurrency Specialist

North American retail giant Walmart is looking for an experienced crypto specialist to design and implement a digital currency strategy and product roadmap.

The specialist will develop Walmart's crypto strategy and draw up a roadmap for the development of the company's crypto initiatives. Also, the employee will look for options for profile investment in the industry, as part of the direction development. Additionally, the specialist will be engaged in tracking trends in the digital asset market.

Previously, Walmart had initiatives aimed at creating its own cryptocurrency. In August 2019, a filing was published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). According to the filing, the company plans to develop a US dollar-based digital asset. The document also says Walmart may tap the financial instrument at select retail stores or partner stores. Walmart has no plans to launch the cryptocurrency internationally, according to the filing.
