Vitalik Buterin Comes With New Details On Migration To PoS
Vitalik BUTERIN shared on Twitter the idea of Proto-danksharding, a data verification scenario focused on transactions carrying so-called blobs that cannot be executed by the EVM. Proto-danksharding is expected to replace danksharding, a sharding technique in which only one proposer chooses all transactions and all data that go into this or that slot instead of a separate proposer for every shard.
The proposed solution may be an intermediate option, as it includes the implementation of some elements of danksharding. At the same time, this results in an increase in data usage as a larger block size is required. Vitalik Buterin proposed to automatically delete blob data every 30 days to prevent the network from too large requirements for data and memory storage.
The Ethereum network is even closer to a full migration to the Proof-of-Stake consensus due to the launch of the Kiln multi-client testnet by developers. The test network emulates the specifications of the "real world" and is designed to stress-test the capabilities of Ethereum (ETH).
