Twitch Makes A Discount For Cryptocurrency Payments

Streaming service Twitch announced this week that it is offering a 10% discount for subscribers who pay with cryptocurrency. The new offer from Twitch is possible thanks to the payment processor Bitpay. This is the first discount campaign from a company of such level.

Bitpay allows payments in cryptocurrencies such as BTC, BCH, ETH, XRP, as well as four stablecoins which are GUSD, USDC, PAX, BUSD. In order to get a 10% discount, individuals simply choose payment with Bitpay and then proceed with payment with a digital asset.

According to Bill ZIELKE, Marketing Director of Bitpay:

“Twitch is the first major merchant to jump on this trend.”

Bitpay explained that it is great to see the trendsetting company accepting cryptocurrencies. The payment processor also highlights the fact that the gaming industry goes hand in hand with cryptocurrency support. The adoption of digital assets adds the potential for expanding the user base, ensures transaction speed, and has no bounds.
