TRON And BitTorrent Will Collaborate On A New Project Called BitTorrent Chain

BitTorrent has announced a partnership with TRON to launch the BitTorrent Chain (BTTC) Layer 2 blockchain. The launch is scheduled for October 30, 2021. According to the announcement, BTTC is a scaling and cross-chain interoperability solution that will connect TRON, Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. By connecting these three platforms, users will benefit from lower BitTorrent Chain transaction fees at faster speeds.

BTTC will also be fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). In addition, it will allow EVM developers to seamlessly migrate their Ethereum-based applications to the BitTorrent Chain.

BTTC will offer a more secure and transparent mechanism – transparent nodes and custodian accounts, as well as traceable transactions. The announcement mentions that the TRON blockchain will initiate the election of a super representative. There will be a limited number of spots in the elections. BTT holders can vote to receive staking rewards. Users will be able to earn BTT rewards and participate in community governance when they become super representatives on the network.
