The United Arab Emirates Launched Blockchain Platform To Store Medical Data

The Department of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), together with other institutions, launched a blockchain platform to store medical data. According to The Emirates, the blockchain platform was launched in order to increase the efficiency of the Ministry of Health and other services operating in this area. The platform will help users find a medical facility, check the licensing of medical and technical personnel, and track the supply chain of drugs.

According to Dr. Lubna AL SHAALI, director of Public Health Policy Department, the data storage platform offers a fixed, decentralized and encrypted database with the security of high degree. With its help, you can verify the reliability of the requested data.

According to the plans of the Ministry for AI Implementation, the platform will include AI functions. Dr. Amin HUSSEIN AL AMIRI, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing, added:

“The AI-based projects will play a key role in enhancing the capabilities of health care services and providing smart medical solutions, in accordance with the UAE Centennial 2071, and its artificial intelligence strategy."
