Tezos Will Receive Privacy Features In The Next Update

According to the posted announcement, developers Tezos Nomadic Labs, Marigold and Metastate have submitted several proposals for an upcoming update dubbed Edo. It will introduce new privacy features on the blockchain as well as many other updates.

The first new feature in Edo is the implementation of Sapling, a library originally developed by Electric Coin Company for the Zcash blockchain. As with the privacy-focused coin, Sapling will allow transactions to be “secured”.
The second big addition to Edo is the ticket system – a mechanism for smart contracts to grant portable permissions to other smart contracts or to issue tokens. Tickets should greatly simplify the process for third-party developers.

In addition, Edo's updates contain several minor bug fixes and further improvements in performance and gas costs.
