Spanish Travelers Will Be Able to Receive Compensation in Cryptocurrency Instead of Euros

Soon, Spanish travelers will be able to fill out claims for incidents involving airline delays, lost baggage, overbooking, and receive compensation in cryptocurrency. This opportunity has now become a reality thanks to a partnership between a domestic crypto exchange and a law firm.

According to El Mundo Financiero, crypto exchange Criptan, based in Valencia, Spain, has signed an agreement with Wings to Claim, a Spanish legal association that owns a platform that specializes in handling travel-related incidents. Travelers will now be able to receive compensation in cryptocurrency instead of euros.

The platform distributed the euro within the account using the Criptan crypto exchange. If any customer eligible for compensation wants to receive money in cryptocurrency, the exchange will refund money in coins such as bitcoins (BTC). Wings to Claim explained the adoption of crypto by the fact that they want to keep up with the growing trend of cryptocurrency adoption in the tourism and hotel sector.
