Port of Buenos Aires Plans To Implement Blockchain Technology

The port of Buenos Aires in Argentina will soon be modernized with blockchain technology to improve the speed and efficiency of the port's processes. According to a press release, the General Port Administration has announced a tender to modernize its e-PuertoBUE maritime logistics platform.

The blockchain implementation will act as a “digital notary”, preventing information alteration, applying tracking techniques and providing a secure structure. Blockchain technology will assist in documenting processes, including delivery information, electronic invoices, dangerous goods declaration.

During 2020, several port operators and shipping companies began implementing blockchain technology to increase transparency and speed up various functions in the supply chain.
