Polish Lawmakers Send A Request to The Ministry of Finance About The Possibility of Creating Bank Accounts for Crypto Companies
In light of the coming regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges in Poland, a group of lawmakers have filed a request with the country's Ministry of Finance, asking if the ministry plans to facilitate the creation of bank accounts for Polish crypto companies and whether it intends to develop rules for stablecoins in the near future.
Lawmakers say local players in the industry could face serious problems opening and maintaining bank accounts due to the creation of a new registry of crypto exchanges. These difficulties can be further exacerbated by statements by the Financial Supervision Authority (Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego), which discourages banks from cooperating with companies that deal with cryptoassets.
Lawmakers say the new rules could lead to a situation in which local entrepreneurs can register their cryptocurrency exchange but cannot open a bank account, effectively preventing them from transacting in Poland.
