Pay With ADA In Online Stores On Shopify

Australian developer Jeronimo BACKES is currently working on the Cardano e-commerce integration project, which will allow ADA holders to pay with their native Cardano digital coin at over 500,000 Shopify online stores.

Sponsored by the SHOP stake pool, the project aims to bridge the gap between Cardano and e-commerce to allow online retailers and shoppers to exchange ADA for goods with zero commissions. The integration will initially include the release and maintenance of the official Shopify app, which will be available to over 500,000 online companies worldwide.

As soon as Cardano smart contracts become widely available, the project will support subscriptions and recurring payments in ADA. Notably, the code will be completely open source for advanced users to customize, build, and deploy to their servers. BACKES added that following the successful integration with Shopify, there are plans to create similar integrations with other major e-commerce platforms such as Woocommerce for WordPress, Magento and etc.
