New Trojan mining virus poses as Sysg.exe
Another mining virus has recently been spotted by cybersecurity experts. Even though its nature strikingly resembles other viruses - the infected computer mines digital currency Monero for hackers - its structure is enhanced with various additional capabilities.
As reports say, Sysg.exe is able to download its own updates and even other viruses. The program is best deleted via anti-malware software, as it uses the registry of Windows. This means that the simple elimination of an executable file might not fully solve the issue. The products which have documented ability to search and destroy that virus include SpyHunter and STOPZilla. Quite possibly, other anti-spyware tools will be able to detect in the future versions.
This virus uses the CryptoNight remote mining algorithm which is already familiar to the regular readers of Bitnewstoday’s reports on the malicious cryptocurrency-related programs. In case one is tech-savvy enough to operate with the registry, some websites contain a step-by-step instruction on how to delete Sysg.exe.
Mac users have nothing to fear in this case - although there were some indications that other mining viruses have already reached this platform as well. Their number may increase over time.
