NBX To Tokenize Norwegian Krone And Gold

Norwegian exchange NBX plans to tokenize Norwegian krone and gold – NBX co-founder and managing director Stig Kjos-Mathisen said regional growth is at the forefront at this stage, not international expansion. Next year NBX will focus on providing trading pairs, services and products attractive to the Scandinavian market.

The region-focused products include both gold and tokenized Norwegian krone, which will open up access to lending and borrowing protocols for stablecoins pegged to currencies except the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the co-founder of NBX, a fully regulated and centralized exchange, said he feels no threat from the rise of decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. He is confident that there is a place and a need for both kinds of platforms.
