NASDAQ CEO Adena Friedman: yes, crypto could be used as Internet currency
Adena Friedman who heads NASDAQ, one of the biggest and most known traditional exchanges in the world, does not exclude a scenario in which cryptocurrency becomes a widely-recognized Internet currency. This has been stated in the recent interview with financial press.
This assets management expert thinks that there is no digital currency able to serve as an Internet means of payment, but it would undoubtedly emerge due to the customer demand.
NASDAQ leader Adena Friedman has shared her opinion on digital currencies before. The corporation does not even exclude the direct trading of this type of financial assets once the market reaches the standards of other economic spheres. The majority of people must be ready for this trading innovation, corporate executive noted.
The wide discussion whether or not Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies could become the financial tools of Internet has been initiated by Jack Dorsey. As he told, Bitcoin will become the Internet’s single currency. The optimistic statement has later been supported by Steve Wozniak, one of the founding fathers of Apple. The latter noted that this was only one of possible scenarios he wanted to happen in the future.
