NASA uses Ethereum Smart Contracts in space
NASA is testing Ethereum smart contracts for space exploration. The Space Center has long been considering a possible Blockchain implementation focused on scientific research in this field.
The project is headed by Dr. Jin Wei Kocsis, who received a grant of $ 330,000 to develop a system capable of processing data obtained during the research, regardless of the information received from the Earth.
According to doctor, Ethereum smart contracts should teach the system to "think on their own" — in other words, spaceships will be able to anticipate potential dangers during the launch and space movement.
To date, the launch and management of space missions require careful and uninterrupted participation of humans. Dr. Wei and her team will allow us to radically change how we think about space programs. Other details concerning the project have not yet been disclosed. Earlier, NASA has announced the use of blockchain to track space debris and improve communications with the spaceships and controller.
