Millions Stolen From Horizon Harmony Protocol Sent To Tornado Cash
Security experts said that the hackers who stole $100 mln worth of cryptocurrency made three transactions from the address used in the hack for a total of about 30,000 ETH, the equivalent of $36 mln. The addressee was the Tornado Cash mixing service. $64 mln worth of assets are still in the hacker's wallet.
Last week, $100 mln in Wrapped Ethereum (WETH), AAVE, SUSHI, DAI, Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) were stolen from the Horizon Bridge platform and then exchanged for Ethereum. On Friday, experts reported that the attack was made possible by an exploit of the Harmony protocol.
Harmony itself denied the experts' opinion and stated that it did not find evidence of any vulnerabilities on the Horizon platform. On Saturday, Harmony Protocol offered a $1 mln reward for the return of the stolen assets, warning that the company would otherwise go to law enforcement.
