Ledger to support Monero

06 September 2017 21:00, UTC

Ledger, the leader in the hardware wallet production niche, has recently announced the support of Monero, the cryptocurrency known for its peculiar means of anonymization. The message on this has appeared on Reddit and other social media.

Hardware wallets make one of the best ways to secure a cryptocurrency owner’s wealth. The projects of Ledger are open-source, which means that users can track the development progress on Github. One of the developers, nicknamed Cslashm, made the plans to integrate Monero in Ledger’s products known to public. He told that his team would release the alpha code of this integration on the Ledger Blue and Nano S hardware wallet models, and that the developers will do everything in their power to accelerate pace.

The developer stated: his team knows that “soon” or “when it’s done” are not correct answers to “when?”, and told they plan to release an initial alpha code at the end of September. He invites anyone interested to join the Github discussion.
