Football player hired (partly) for Bitcoins

31 January 2018 21:00, UTC

As reported by several media websites and confirmed by the Twitter account dedicated to football in Turkey, the local amateur soccer club called Harunustaspor has hired Omer Faruk Kiroglu. This news would not reach so much news agencies if it wasn’t for the payment: a part of the sum was in bitcoins (440 Euro), with the player clearly not against such a deal.

Bitcoin is currently falling down, but it may easily reclaim its positions and probably even hit $20,000 again this year, as its dynamics are very fast and depend on speculative factors, which is one of the primary reasons the economists of the world are criticizing it.

Quite possibly, we might see business contracts similar to this one in the future, but not with Bitcoin. Gold-backed tokens similar to the one the Royal Mint of Great Britain is currently developing might become very trendy and attractive once traditional banks learn how to develop them.

One of the oldest Bitcoin deals known to man included an automobile and might have happened in 2011, when the resident of Australia posted an offer - his old Porsche for 3000 BTC, which is a big sum right now, but it was much cheaper during those early days of cryptocurrency.
