ETHGlobal will organize major hackathons dedicated to Ethereum

The social media tells about a new initiative of Ethereum community participants called ETHGlobal. This new non-commercial organization will act as a host for major hackathons dedicated to the second most capitalized cryptocurrency in the world (as of press time) and will overall promote the ideas related to Ethereum technologies. People who previously organized ETHWaterloo, a big event of blockchain innovators, are high-ranking members of this organization. It was at this event where CryptoKitties, a viral game on the Ethereum blockchain designed as an illustration of how the system works, was developed.

The organization has been financed by Ethereum Foundation headed by Vitalik Buterin, creator of this popular alternative to Bitcoin. Major cryptocurrency ATMs often support Ethereum together with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Vitalik Buterin’s father Dmitry once said that it does not really matter what backs cryptocurrency, as all currencies are mostly backed by collective hallucination.

Ethereum itself is now jumping between $800 and $900, but the overall price motion resembles the dynamics of Bitcoin.
