Enough about CryptoKitties, sci-fi filmmakers want to use Ethereum too
According to BTCManager, some filmmakers plan to distribute the New Frontiers anthology on SingularDTV, a DLT-based platform that gives creators an opportunity to promote their art. This is good news because lately Ethereum had a little problem with its reputation after it became clear its blockchain is loaded with an app about kittens.
SingularDTV itself is planning to create an entertainment division. The representatives of the company claim that the funding of the aforementioned anthology, as well as other creations will be a good alternative to overly-centralized films and series production.
However, one can have reasonable doubts about the need of the blockchain in this entrepreneurship. While there is a reason for cable operators to improve their networks via blockchain, the crowdfunding could be in fiat. As one of the experts once told, if you want to separate a good blockchain project from the regular one, ask yourself (and, possibly, the project founders) if the whole thing can be done without blockchain and what is the exact reason why blockchain is going to make a difference.
