Coinbase to add GBP in the next few weeks
The United Kingdom residents will be able to use the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase faster due to the future coming of the British pound on this platform. This has been confirmed by Zeeshan Feroz, chief executive officer of this establishment.
Previously, the British clients had to employ third-party companies: in some cases it was LHV, a bank in Estonia. Mobile banking applications have also been used, tells NewsBTC.
There are currently no indications that other currencies are to be introduced on this platform. Regardless, this may attract additional client base, especially considering that 6% of all Bitcoin transactions are made in GBP. As Zeeshan Feroz previously said, the market of Great Britain is the largest in Europe for his company.
One of the major steps of Coinbase United Kingdom strategy was partnering with Barclays, one of the largest banks of the country. One of the most obvious benefits from this new alliance is improved compatibility of Barclays accounts with Coinbase engine, March reports told.
As it seems, the financial regulators of the United Kingdom are not objecting to this economic process, although the cons of the cryptocurrency market have been highlighted by Prime Minister Theresa May.
