Now Cloudflare has launched a new series of experiments that will focus on addressing the environmental and scaling issues that plague modern blockchain technology. Over the past couple of years, there has been significant growth in the use of underlying technologies powering Web3.

As the Ethereum community moves closer to moving from PoW to PoS, Cloudflare will start running and fully hosting Ethereum validator nodes on Cloudflare's global network using the PoS consensus mechanism. The nodes will play an important role as a testing ground for research into energy efficiency, network speed, and consistency management.

The launch of PoS validator nodes on the Cloudflare global network will allow Cloudflare to support the development and deployment of Ethereum, offer greater geographical decentralization, especially in places such as LATAM, EMEA, and APJC. This ensures that the network remains fault-tolerant, secure, and brings it closer to the goal of achieving decentralization for all.
