Brave Browser Integrates Solana to Extend Access to Web3
Privacy-focused browser Brave has unveiled version 1.39 of its desktop browser that comes with Solana integration to improve Web3 accessibility. Brave followed suit with Opera, which took a similar step when it integrated with Solana, Polygon, StarkEx, and other blockchain ecosystems in March. Brendan EICH from Brave noted that the firm will provide DApp support in the next release.
The addition of Solana support means users will now be able to enjoy lower fees and faster transactions. The integration plans were first presented in November 2021. Using desktop version 1.39, Brave Wallet users can transact with SOL and SPL tokens directly from their Brave Wallet.
In addition, users will be able to buy other cryptocurrencies with fiat thanks to integration with Ramp. The platform’s native token, BAT has also been transmuted into an SPL token. Brave has announced its partnership with Solana's leading NFT marketplace, Magic Eden. Using BAT tokens, Brave Wallet users will soon be able to buy NFTs directly from their wallets.
