ASKfm ICO promotional event followed by death of one guides on Everest
One of the Sherpas guiding the Ukrainian ICO - an offering which is directly connected with ASK.fm - has died during their trip on Everest. This has been first shared by the Ukrainian sites dedicated to alpinism (with sorrowful comments similar to “they should not have chosen such a hard goal”) and then the Ministry of Tourism of Nepal has also disclosed the cause of death of Lam Babu Sherpa — snow blindness.
When contacted by the press, one of the employees of the company didn’t know about this or didn’t want to talk on this tragic event, while the media cites the member of the climbers’ group who has confirmed that this has indeed happened.
Everest (also known as Chomolungma) has taken many lives since the rise of the popularity of expeditions to the top of this mountain, highest on the planet. In this case, the death could have been prevented, experts on climbing imply. Eventually, the ICO team has posted a video regarding their mission to leave a hardware wallet with several tens of thousands of dollars in tokens. They have succeed to do so, while not mentioning the death of one of the guides.
