Ein neuer Rahmen für die Nachverfolgung tokenisierter Vermögenswerte

Real-world assets issued on Stellar just crossed $4 billion in tokenized funds and sovereign debt.

When I was recently interviewed about it, I said the trendline mattered more than the milestone. I didn't go far enough. A trendline is the better of the two, but both track the same wrong thing: where the money sits, not what it does. Every chain publishes a number like this. Not one of them tells you whether a single tokenized asset did any work.

It’s time for a different scoreboard. I am proposing a new framework for tracking tokenized assets, one built on what each asset actually does.

Conversations about tokenization center on which chain is in the lead, what the total value is, and how much it grew this month. None of those numbers answer the question a chief investment officer would ask about a tokenized asset on her own balance sheet: what is it doing for me? A parked balance isn’t automatically an unproductive one, and some capital, like reserves and pledged collateral, is supposed to sit. But a balance can’t tell you whether an asset can be moved, pledged, or borrowed against. Tokenization was supposed to fix that. An asset issued natively onchain can go to work the day it is issued.

Total value also hides who that stillness serves. A stablecoin issuer keeps the interest on the reserves behind every coin, so a dollar that sits still earns for the issuer and nobody else. That is why we keep stablecoins out of the RWA count and watch their velocity instead. A tokenized fund pays its yield to the holder. Total value counts both dollars the same, so it cannot tell you whether a balance rests because it works for its owner or for whoever issued it.

I am proposing a new framework based on five measures that would tell us far more: held, earning, spent, pledged, and moved.
