IOTA is being respected around the world for its robust Distributed Ledger Technology. Importantly, IOTA has garnered series of accolades in different sector in Germany, notable among them were the partnership with Volkswagen, BMW and Bosch, among others.
For quite some time now, Siemens has been referencing IOTA in a large number of its patent applications. Lately Siemens AG and Siemens Healthcare filed 10 new patent applications, mentioning IOTA in all, Espacenet Patent Research platform shows.
Siemens AG, in one of the latest patent applications it filed, published in March 2020, mentioned IOTA twice, eulogizing the technology for what it offers.
The firm, in the patent application which is on “Distributed Database System, Industry Automation System and Method for Operating A Distributed Database System,” said IOTA is a blockless distributed database system.
Siemens also mentioned Byteball and IoT Chain (ITC) as an example of Blockless Distributed Database System. The company believes that Block data made way for the creation of a Blockless Distributed Database System, the latter offers technology that allows the chain of transactions to be stored in a security-protected manner, Siemens said.
No doubt, IOTA and Byteball are good examples of Blockless Distributed Database System. However, Nano blockchain technology is another great example.
IOTA Blockless Distributed Database System uses DAG + PoW protocol, offers instant transaction confirmation and settles 500 transactions per seconds in real time.
Nano, on the other side, uses DAG + DPoS and can processes 7000 transactions per second in real time, but it also offers instant transaction confirmation, Blockchain.IEEE can confirm.
This gives IOTA an edge over a number of projects in the blockchain space. IEEE Blockchain, in a statement, said IOTA, Bitcoin, Ethereum, among others were created to disrupt most sectors of our life.
IOTA to Ventures into New Projects in Chile and Japan
Julie Maupin, while announcing that she was stepping down from IOTA daily activities after serving as IOTA Foundation’s Director of Social Impact and Public Regulatory Affairs since 2017, declared that IOTA next point of focus would be Chile and Japan.
Maupin switched to IOTA advisory board member since June 1. During this period, she said she would like to focus on her family and personal development.
Maupin also said that as she moved to a new position, the next thing for IOTA would be taking part in Industrial IoT projects in Japan, climate change management, use case, new mobility, digital health and land fill monitoring in Chile, among others.
