About Stellar

Stellar is an open source decentralized blockchain network, where Lumens (XLM) is its native cryptocurrency. Stellar was founded by Joyce Kim and Jed McCaleb in 2014. The Stellar and Ripple protocols were initially the same, and use a similar mechanism, but Stellar focuses more on the non-banking sector. From 2014 to 2019, the Stellar network used the inflation mechanism, which was abolished, followed by the burning of tokens. Since 2017, Stellar has been an IBM partner.
