Bored Ape Yacht club co-founder Gordon Goner has informed the community of an imminent attack. He tweeted a warning to hackers trying to hack the non-fungible token community again, stating inside sources unveiled the planned attack.

BAYC Hackers on the Case again

On 12th June, BAYC co-founder Gordon Goner warned the hackers who had planned a fourth attack on the decentralized society earlier. He notified the hackers to be keen as they might be caught up. In his tweet, he stated that information from the inside was the critical source for them to escape an ongoing attack in their spaces.

According to Gordon, ackers might use their discords and websites for practice and other skill perfection.

BAYC Social Media Hacks

On the 2nd of April, a hack on BAYC ensued, and the community saw hackers take over the NFTs’ discord channel. The white-hat hacker sent fishing links to the official discord. BAYC had initially launched a project detailing the Mutant Ape Yacht club(MAYC).

The cyber-terrorist hacked three Yuga labs from the community’s tech team. They sent a malware link where the victims were fooled off their coins in their wallets. Yuga Labs banned the wallet used by the hacker as it was used for malpractices and illegal transactions.

The cyber attacker stole a  valuable product of the community (MAYC). Mutant Ape Yacht Club was the Latest production of the crypto community. The district had planned to make a significant intersection and new angle in the digital asset industry.

The evening of April 25th also marked a mourning series for the BAYC community as hackers breached the network’s Instagram and Discord accounts.

On this occasion, the white hat hacker sent a malicious website address to the fake Instagram account and the official discord. BAYC participants were prepared to receive their fresh and fake airdrops, as was claimed by the drudge. Victims linked their Metamask to the hacker’s wallet. Both Bored Apes and Mutant Apes were stolen.

The white hacker stole several 24 Bored Apes and 30 Mutant Ape from the victims’ wallets. 54 NFTs were stolen from the Bored Ape Yacht Club community. These NFTs comprised $ 13.7million.

A BAYC spokesperson said that 4 BA, 6MA and BAKC as associated NFTs worth $3million were lost in the process. He noted that the BAYC community would contact victims of that particular act.

More Attacks on the Popular NFT

On 5th June, a cyber attacker stole NFTs worth $ 360,000 from BAYC, a total of 200 ETH. The BAYC community manager’s account ( Boris Vagner) was hacked and later used to spread the phishing links to its participants. Participants were unaware of the incoming attack on their unsecure personal accounts. The post on the spoofing links was also aimed at the Metaverse project ‘Otherside’ Discord.

A Twitter mogul NFT Herder was the first to report the incident. Herder stated that 145 ETH were stolen. According to him, the stolen ETH was worth $260,000 and comprised NFTs on the list. Later, Yuga labs confirmed the attack 11hrs after Herder’s tweet. Yuga labs, as usual, advised its community not to click through any link.

Victims raised questions to confirm whether Boris and his brother Richard were behind the attacks. This was speculated as they could have been seeking ways to benefit themselves.
