Beeple's Twitter account was hacked recently, with approximately $70,000 lost in cash. Mike Winkelmann, aka Beeple, has a Twitter account that is popular. Unfortunately, this Beeple Twitter hacked by NFT hackers is now sharing a phishing link that poses a theft threat to any crypto holder. If people click this link, it can hack and steal cryptocurrency from their wallets. Because Beeple has a large number of followers and is well-known on the internet, hackers and NFT scammers have targeted him. We all know that phishing is the practice of sending emails that appear to be from legitimate businesses to obtain sensitive information such as passwords and credit card numbers from people online.

Phishing Links Associated with a Louis Vuitton Website

People who click on the link on Beeple's hacked Twitter account got a redirect to a site that steals their money. Additionally, the link leads to a bogus website that appears to have been created in collaboration with the prestigious fashion house "Louis Vuitton". Following an attack, several well-known NFT celebrities tweeted about the new NFT phishing scam. Beeple's compromised accounts' posts appeared as if they were working with Louis Vuitton. However, there have been many warnings to NFT and crypto holders about the phishing scam. For instance, Zeneca, a major player in the NFT, issued a warning via Twitter. Others have banded together to warn NFT fans to be cautious.

Beeple Fans Taking Bait

A mint process begins once people get a redirect to the fake website and link their wallets. The design of the phishing site is not to steal your money, as it appears to be similar to other NFT scams. Unfortunately, many NFT collectors and Beeple fans were unaware of the artist's Twitter account hack. As a result, most of them fell victim to the scam. According to reports, victims of the scam have lost up to 35 ETH, approximately $70,000. The link to the dangerous phishing site was on Beeple's Twitter bio. NFT enthusiast, Zeneca, emphasized that individuals should not click on suspicious links or connect their bank account to sites that do not appear to be trustworthy. However, since they collaborated with Louis Vuitton in 2019, Beeple's tweet about the Louis Vuitton raffle appeared genuine.

Beeple's Twitter Account Restoration

Beeple has been able to regain control over his Twitter account. However, he warned his followers on Twitter to be careful and beware of anything that appears too good to be true. Beeple's "Everydays: The First 5000 Days"  sold for $69 million. He had previously sold items for $100 each, and the rest is history. Additionally, Beeple has over 2.5 million social media followers, making him a target for hackers looking to steal the cryptocurrency wallet's funds.

Beeple NFT Art

Beeple is one of the most well-known NFT artists who create digital art and sells it as NFTs. His most well-known Beeple NFT Art, titled "Everydays - The First 5,000 Days," has been sold for $69 billion. NFTs are non-fungible tokens that you cannot trade with one another. This is in contrast to crypto-assets that you can trade with one another.

A Life-changing Work of Art

Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple, is a digital artist whose work "Everydays - The First 5,000 Days" is widely popular. The artwork was sold at Christie's for $69 million. The sale positioned him among the three most renowned living artists. The record-breaking digital art sales were the result of months of escalating auctions. First, in October of 2020, Beeple sold out the NFT series. They sold each unit of the series for $66,666.67. Then, in December of the previous year, the artist sold digital art for $3.5 million at auction. In addition, the NFT that they originally sold for $66,666.66 was resold for $6.6 Million.

Why does Beeple NFT Have A Lot of Value?

Multiple factors explain why Beeple's digital artwork has become a desirable possession. First, Beeple has amassed a large fan base, with approximately 2.5 million followers on social media platforms. Second, Beeple is also notoriously prolific in the context of his "Everydays" project, where he creates and publishes a new digital artwork, "every day." The NFT industry has exploded, considering what happened in the previous two years. However, collectors who believe that they can buy and sell digital artwork over time have seen that the rising values cannot be compared to the value of NFTs in the future when the entire world is aware of their value. The $69 million artwork "Everydays: The First 5,000 Days" was a compilation of Mike Winkelmann's work, which began at the project's onset when he began posting rough online sketches he had created. At the beginning of the project, he uploaded extremely crude digital images of political art. According to those new to the NFT industry, this new technological emergence will be around for a long time. For example, Pablo Rodriguez-Fraile, the buyer of the $66,666.66 Beeple NFT who resold it 100 times within four months, began collecting digital art a year ago. Right now, he is in the millions due to selling NFTs.

Conclusion

Recent phishing attempts have increased as fraudsters attempt to profit from cryptocurrency and NFT advertisements. However, scammers mostly use fraudulent websites posing as legitimate platforms. Therefore, we recommend that NFT enthusiasts and crypto investors remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to these scams.
