Romanian Tax Agency to question Crypto Traders in Romania

According to the reports of Romanian news agencies, more than €48.64 million in fraud has been caught in the digital currency world. 

Reports also stated that the amount was to be paid by the 61 citizens of Romania, who collectively earned €131 million from 2016 to 2021 from cryptocurrency and haven’t paid the taxes to the government of Romania.

Romania’s National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has warned the citizens who committed this fraud and asked them to present their elaborate crypto transactions in front of the authorities of ANAF. 

In the upcoming month, the European parliament commission and council have planned to bring a new set of laws for Anti-money laundering, which will be named “the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) law.” and have prepared a road map to implement it in the other 27 states of Romania.  

The tax regulation agency of Romania further stated that they have planned to watchdog other crypto-related activities like trading of NFTs and crypto mining processes. The motto of doing so is to increase the number of taxpayers and avoid Tax evasion in Romania.  

 The tax regulation agency of Romania found that €48.64 million funds were missing from tax sections in their department, and the higher authorities ordered the recovery of €2.10 million.

The Romanian tax regulation agency reported a massive tax evasion in the state, amounting to €48.64 million. Moreover, agencies are ready to take serious legal action against 61 Romania-listed traders who were found guilty of evasion of taxes. In upcoming times the agencies are prepared with a road map to monitor crypto mining and NFTs trading. And the agencies are ready with new rules and regulations to stop Money laundering in Romania.
