Jason William Siesser, a Missouri man, tried to buy a lethal chemical weapon on the dark web paying for it with bitcoin. He told the potential seller that he intended to use it soon, thus killing up to 300 people. According to the DoJ press release, Jason William Siesser, 46, of Columbia, Mo., pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to acquire a chemical weapon and one count of aggravated identity theft on Aug. 4, 2020.

Jason received 12 years imprisonment after pleading guilty.
The investigation revealed that Siesser suffered from severe heartache, anger, and resentment over a recent breakup. In a press release, the Justice Department stated that Siesser was filled with” desire for the person who caused the heartache to die.” Fortunately, law enforcement officials managed to track Jason’s criminal intentions. Controlled delivery of a package that contained an inert substance was sent to his home on Aug. 23, 2018. During Sissier’s home search, the officers also found other toxic chemical elements such as Cardium arsenide, cadmium metal, and a sizeable amount of hydrochloric acid.
