Swiss banking group Swissqoute has announced its plans to launch a cryptocurrency custody service later this month, the firm’s 2018 business results reveal.

According to the report, the firm became the first European online bank to offer clients the option of trading in five cryptocurrencies against EUR and USD. Then, in 2018, Swissquote became the first bank to offer ICOs. Looking to continue their pioneering role in the world of digital assets, the bank has now confirmed that offering crypto custody solutions is next on the agenda, set to launch on March 21.

The report explains that customers will be able to transfer crypto from external wallets to their account at Swissquate and vice versa. The solution will reportedly be based on services provided by Swiss fintech company Crypto Storage AG.

The company’s website states that it develops hardware security modules to manage private keys for financial intermediaries around the world.

As Chepicap recently reported, Switzerland has become the first country to successfully submit a real estate transaction on the blockchain.
