TIME Releases TIME100 Most Influential Companies

The complete TIME100 list features 64 companies with headquarters in the US, including electric automaker Tesla, Twitter and Mastercard.

New-York based news magazine TIME has revealed a list of TIME100 Most Influential Companies in the world. Published on 27th April, the list represented the first of its kind by the American news magazine.

According to TIME, the list was complained by nominating different companies across every sector. The companies were chosen from industries including healthcare, transportation, technology, entertainment, and so on. The nominations came globally from experts in various sectors, editors, and correspondents.

Also, TIME considered certain features before picking the selected companies among other nominees. Each company was examined based on impact, innovation, success, relevance, leadership, and ambition. The complete TIME100 Most Influential Companies consist of companies in the technology space, biotechnology market, and more.

Commenting on the first-ever TIME100 Influential Companies, TIME100 editorial director, Dan Macsai, said:

“We’re excited to evolve our TIME100 franchise to explore and interrogate the influence of companies, particularly at a moment when so many of them are shaping our collective future.”

The TIME100 Most Influential Companies publication features 5 worldwide covers. Each cover revealed details on each company on the compiled list and presented a thorough profile of the CEO. The executives featured include Hello Sunshine CEO Reese Witherspoon and Commissioner of the National Basketball Association Adam Silver. Others are the CEO of General Motors Co (NYSE: GM), Mary Barra, Francis deSouza of Illumina (NASDAQ: ILMN), and Sara Menker of Gro Intelligence.

TIME100 Most Influential Companies

The complete list features 64 companies with headquarters in the US, including electric automaker Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA), Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR), and Mastercard Inc (NYSE: MA). The list also included 18 companies headquartered in Europe. They include Adidas (OTC: ADDYY) and Volkswagen (Xetra: VOW).

Other companies that made the 100 most influential companies by TIME include selected tech companies. The companies are Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT), Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL), Samsung (KRX: 005930), and Zoom Video Communications Inc (NASDAQ: ZM).

TIME100 publication also referenced companies playing key roles regarding the coronavirus pandemic. Such companies are BioNTech SA (NASDAQ: BNTX), Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: MRNA), Pfizer Inc (NYSE: PFE), and so on.

In addition, companies selected from the financial technology sector are Robinhood, Flutterwave, Stripe, and others.

Also, TIME selected Netflix Inc (NASDAQ: NFLX), TikTok, HYBE, Spotify Technology SA (NYSE: SPOT), and The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) from the entertainment space.

During the announcement of TIME100 Most Influential Companies, TIME also unveiled Time Business. The company’s CEO and editor in chief Edward Felsenthal mentioned the purpose of the launch. He said that TIME Business would focus on covering “the global impact of business” and how it affects our public and personal lives.

“The mission of TIME Business is to help illuminate the path forward. We’re in the midst of a reset, one that is already transforming the economy and what employees, customers and our broader communities expect of companies,” Felsenthal added.
