Famous sportswear giant Adidas ( (ADDYY) ) has announced plans to partner with America’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase. The German company whose motto is ‘Adidas is all in’ could soon be joining the crypto and blockchain industry. 

On Twitter, the sportswear apparel firm teased that the move was probably nothing. Coinbase confirmed the deal with a handshake emoji. However, the two reputable firms have not given details concerning this significant development.

The vital step forward by the sportswear firm could enable digital asset payment integration in their system. There are allegations that Tesla’s collaboration with Coinbase resulted in significant BTC purchases for the electric-automobile manufacturer. This happened through Coinbase’s OTC section.

Adidas joins in the Metaverse world

A couple of weeks ago, Facebook switched its parent name to Meta to pursue better opportunities in the metaverse. Now several companies are announcing plans to join metaverse so they dont miss out on a business speculated to be a $1 trillion market.

Adidas has not been left behind. It recently launched POAP (proof of attendance protocol) on the Adidas Confirmed app to explore the metaverse. The sportswear firm shared a link to its POAP. This made the brand’s fanbase accessible. The virtual world could see a new era of business, thus opening more significant opportunities. Adidas noted that those who seek better technology with diverse options should link with them. The firm said they are now cruising through the metaverse.

The sportswear company confirmed that the digital collectible is their way of gifting customers. They insisted that the community has been curious following them as they explore a better future. Additionally, they noted that the token shows that the customers have been loyal.

Metaverse is the future

Nike also collaborated with Roblox to form a virtual world known as “NIKELAND”. The leading sportswear brand first obtained a patent for “CryptoKicks” at the end of 2019. The brand is establishing itself in the Metaverse world with recent patents. Other companies planning to link with virtual interaction include Tencent, Google, Apple, and Microsoft. As investors flood the market, it is not just the established firms building their metaverse. Smaller startups are considering the path too.
