Chainblock announced today its new project “ART” devoted to the NFT market.

Federico Pecoraro, CEO of the company, states:

“From ATMs to digital art, Chainblock is always thinking ahead”.

Chainblock ART represents a collection of works by Italian artists aiming at “not letting art die and making it immutable thanks to the blockchain”, explains the press release.

The Chainblock ART platform

The platform will allow the artworks and collectibles to be displayed in one place, not simply an image uploaded into cyberspace, but Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The result is a new form of art, which not only derives value from aesthetics and scarcity, but from the value it literally holds.

Pecoraro explains:

“The representations are the result of many hours spent with our artists as well as the support and development teams. We have been pioneers in the world of cryptocurrencies for many years, we wanted to add another piece to our story, a new challenge that will undoubtedly open up a new paradigm”.

The first artist to join the Chainblock ART project will be Ozmo, with whom the company wanted to build an experiment that restores value to something that is no longer tangible, no longer visible, other than a documented image.

The first presentation by artist OZMO will be Live on Clubhouse, Wednesday, April 7th at 1:00 PM CET with The Cryptonomist in a room with its director, Amelia Tomasicchio.

Who is OZMO?

This is the pseudonym of the Italian artist Gionata Gesi (b. Pontedera 1975).

Considered one of the pioneers and most important exponents of street art in Italy, an internationally recognized urban artist, his work is characterized by the appropriation and remix of images from multiple iconographic sources.

Comics, academic painting and writing are the three areas of the artist’s early training. He grew up in Pisa and then moved to Florence to attend the Academy of Fine Arts. Ozmo disorients, shocks: his works, the technique, the boldness with which he treats the themes he chooses, develop and question the gaze and mind of the viewer.

Metres and metres of grandeur dialogue with the context in which they are placed and rewrite it: wherever there is one of his works, in museums, dedicated spaces, suburban walls and buildings, there is the strength and splendour of someone who manages to transfer all the humanity he knows and does not know into his works.
