The Sandbox Partners with SHIBUYA109 to Create “SHIBUYA109 LAND” - CoinQuora

The Sandbox, a sandbox game developed by the game studio Pixowl, has delved into a business alliance with SHIBUYA109 Entertainment Corporation. This collaboration will bring SHIBUYA109 to The Sandbox metaverse. Their aim is to create an exciting playground where everyone can have extraordinary experiences. Moreover, this attempt is poised to provide customers with next-generation customer experiences that exceed expectations.

As part of this joint venture, they will create a touristic SHIBUYA109 LAND in The Sandbox metaverse. And this is where a range of business activities are expected to occur, which include:  selling original NFTs, mini-games where NFTs are available, and advertising in the metaverse. If done well, this land will connect fans of Shibuya ward from around the globe as this spot will be a complete representation of the famous Shibuya crossing.

“We are very much looking forward to the challenge of a new field that is different from our existing business,” says Ayumi Ishikawa, the Representative Director of SHIBUYA109 Entertainment.

He also stated that they were among the first to focus on the metaverse and NFT, and they had been preparing for this move since April 2021. In the future, they will also collaborate with various artists and characters for this endeavor.

Shibuya 109 operates four facilities, centering on the SHIBUYA109 Shibuya store (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). The company is developing its entertainment business beyond the operation of its commercial facilities.
