South Korean metaverse platform Zepeto has partnered with Solana and Web 3.0 creator Jump Crypto. The partnership is for creating ZepetoX, a cryptocurrency-based metaverse project. With the help of blockchain technology, ZepetoX wants to create a 3D open-world platform where users and creators may build, play, and make money. Dae-wook Kim, chief executive officer of Naver Z, the entity operating Zepeto, said,

"ZepetoX is our official venture into the blockchain industry. We feel that Web3 opportunities should be advanced through a crypto-native approach,"

The platform will offer a variety of layers of gamification and self-expression using non-fungible tokens (NFTs), allowing users to monetize their activities on the site through digital asset ownership and social interaction. To launch its first NFT land sale in the upcoming months, Zepeto will construct the platform on the Solana blockchain. Early this year, the Zepeto metaverse, created by South Korean internet behemoth Naver, attracted 20 million average monthly users. The Zepeto metaverse by Naver Z, which debuted in August 2018, has been well-liked by youngsters worldwide. 90% of its more than 240 million users are not from South Korea, and 80% of them are teenagers. Ralph Lauren, Nike, Gucci, Dior, and Zepeto have already worked together to create virtual collections for the metaverse. Internationally well-known K-pop groups Blackpink, ITZY, and SF9 have either conducted virtual events or released K-pop content that is only available in the metaverse on the platform.
