Binance Announces Scholarship Program

Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance is sponsoring a scholarship program to enable students to develop their skills, knowledge and experience, minus the financial barriers. 

Posted to the Binance Charity page and shared via Twitter by Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the new scholarship will focus on improving education that will empower the next generation of blockchain experts. The blog notes that in addition to financial support for tuition, books and other fees, Binance will provide opportunities for scholars to acquire exposure to the Binance blockchain ecosystem.

How It Works

First, eligibility criteria is based on a per-institution basis. Applicants should carefully review the requirements of the institution they wish to apply for and should any fees be incurred during the school application process, Binance scholarships applicants can apply for a reimbursement as part of the scholarship should they be accepted.

Candidates must be academically inclined and demonstrate strong interest in blockchain technology. Finally, they must demonstrate, with evidence, the financial barriers that prevent them from accessing education. 

Prospective candidates can view the participating universities here. Note that at this time, the list appears to be under construction. 

Scholarships will be available for vocational education (currently for 1,000 Ukrainian students), for undergraduate studies and for master’s degrees.

There is no limit to the number of institutions to which you can apply, but choose carefully and give yourself enough time to put together a well thought-out application package. Be mindful that incomplete applications or applications with missing documents will hinder your chances. Of course, references are always encouraged and can help.‍
