US-based Gemini Trust Company, the entity behind crypto exchange platform Gemini, announced on Tuesday the launch of Gemini Mobile App, which is currently available via both Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Until recently, users could trade cryptocurrencies through the browser-based platform only.

According to Gemini, the new mobile application has several helpful features. Thus, crypto traders can buy and sell cryptocurrency, view market prices and portfolio value, send and receive cryptocurrency, set price alerts, set recurring buy orders, and buy the Cryptoverse, which represents a basket of cryptocurrencies that can be purchased through a single order.

The Price Alert feature allows mobile app users to react instantly to significant price movements as the application sends notifications as soon as a price fluctuates above or below a predefined price level.

The recurring buy orders feature allows traders to repeat any purchase order at a predetermined frequency, time and amount of funds. The function works only when it is turned on.

Gemini claims that its mobile app is user-friendly and relies on the company’s institutional-grade security.

Gemini president Cameron Winklevoss commented via his blog post:

“We’ve spent the last three years building the world’s most trusted cryptocurrency platform and today we are excited to extend it into the hands of our customers. Cryptocurrency never sleeps so it’s important for us to make it easy for our customers to engage with it wherever they are and whenever they want.”

Gemini is a New York-based crypto exchange and custodian service that enables its users to trade and store several digital currencies, including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, and Zcash. Litecoin is the latest coin to be added on Gemini, and it has been available since October of this year. The company, which was founded by crypto billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, is supervised by the New York Department of Financial Services.

In September 2018, Gemini introduced its stablecoin backed by the US dollar. The Gemini dollar, with the ticker GUSD, is currently in the top 50 coins by market cap.
