Following similar moves in other platforms, Bitfinex has announced today the inclusion of four stablecoins into their listings.

From today customers can access all major stablecoins at Bitfinex, as we introduce USDC, True USD, Paxos, and Gemini USD to our existing Tether and Dai offering.

USDC, True USD, Paxos and Gemini USD are the new currencies listed today by the exchange. Adding up to Dai and Tether, now Bitfinex counts with a total of 6 different stablecoins. However, as stated on a Medium post, withdrawals and deposits are limited to verified traders, although trading remains unaffected by verification status.

Tether, launched in 2014, was the first crypto of the kind. Since its expansion to almost all major exchanges along 2017, and the polemics surrounding its peg with the US dollar or its Bahamian banking relationships, many new stablecoins have flourished during 2018.

It seems as if the inclusion of more stablecoins by Bitfinex will be of help in reducing concerns regarding the bonds between the exchange and Tether, such as this Chepicap report from October where Tether volumes stated by Bitfinex were put into question.
