Blockstream Bitcoin Core's co-founder, Gregory Maxwell is looking to sue Roger Ver over defamatory comments on Reddit.

It seems like Roger Ver is going to have a lot on his plate this year when it comes to legal matter.

Gregory Maxwell, the co-founder of Blockstream Bitcoin Core (BTC) is reported to seek for legal relief following a series of defamatory comments made by the Bitcoin.com founder about him on Reddit.

In several statements he posted on the subreddit r/Bitcoin, Ver called Maxwell a “crook”, while also mentioning that he may have been “involved with the hacking and vote manipulation false flag ‘attack’”.

Ver’s comments are very likely related to Maxwell’s offer to assist Dr. Craig Wright or also familiar as “Faketoshi” a while ago, on which he wrote an email that stated how Roger Ver, Rick Falkvinge, Olivier Janssens, and Jihan Wu have been “attacking” Wright in public and “trying to distance BCH” from Wright.

Moreover, the email also said, “The cracks created by Peter Rizun and his staff seem to be widening at an exponential pace and are now starting to encompass people (such as the above) that previously couldn’t be convinced by any argument to align against you. It seems to me that it is simply a matter of time before a forceful public denunciation by someone previously cited as proof of your merit, such as Gavin, brings things crashing down around you.”

Responding to Ver’s posts on Reddit, Maxwell sent his response that said, “As I previously warned, if you or your staff continued to post untruthful malicious defamation about me I would take legal action against you and your companies.”

He added, as quoted by Ambcrypto, “I see you have again posted an outrageously untrue claim that I engaged in unlawful and unethical behavior, relying on your privileged position as moderator of the subreddit to fraudulently convince others of the truthfulness of these untrue claims.”

It is unclear how Ver responded to Maxwell’s responses, however, Maxwell continued by giving a warning to Bitcoin Cash’s major proponent by saying, “I regret that [it] has come to this, but your continued violence against me offers me no alternative.”

As previously reported by Chepicap, Ver, together with Bitmain’s Jihan Wu, is currently facing a lawsuit from United American Corp for manipulating the Bitcoin Cash network during and after the November 15 hardfork.

He responded to the lawsuit by accusing Craig Wright as the “actor” behind and said that Wright is “attacking the very foundation of the internet” through his action.
