Bitcoin payment processor OpenNode has successfully concluded a seed round, raising $1.25 million with billionaire investor and Bitcoin bull Tim Draper who was quick to tweet to his 112K Twitter followers that from now on we will all be able to use our Bitcoins to buy a Latte at Starbucks.

'Finally!!', Tim Draper tweets. 'From now on you will be able to use bitcoin to buy Starbucks, Amazon.com items, Teslas, houses, etc. Fast transactions!'

Most likely most of us will have to settle for a Latte at Starbucks, especially those who started investing in crypto since early 2018. A Tesla you say? Not that much!

Nevertheless, a positive tweet from Tim.

The reason for this excited tweet is the announcement made by OpenNode, which is a bitcoin payment processor, describing itself as 'the easiest way to accept bitcoin',  saying that they managed to close a $1.25 million seed round with venture capitalist Tim Draper and Draper Associates.

João Almeida, co-founder and CTO of OpenNode, said that they were very selective with whom they chose to bring on as their investor.

'We are very excited to have Draper Associates on board because they share in our long-term vision of hyperbitcoinization. We plan on staying as a bitcoin-only payments platform, and Tim gets that.'

'By 2019, we plan to be the leading bitcoin payments platform. Also, more importantly, we aim to push microtransactions onto gaming/streaming/content platform and create payment models never before possible.', he said.
