According to a poll by the Bank of England (BoE), Cryptocurrency has been deemed to e the most popular method for receiving a gift.

The poll revealed that a whooping 70%of respondants would prefer a gift in the form of digital currency, over one in cash, through a gift voucher (no surprise there) or via bank transfer:

If you receive money as a gift at Christmas, what’s your favourite way to get it?

Now it's fair to say that this, in part, may be due to the many crypto brethren on Twitter but this still goes a long way to prove the ever turning tide of crypto adoption. Furthermore, this poll provides a great service as a call to the Bank to recognize the legitimacy of digital assets.

In the comments section, users not only stated which transaction method they’d prefer but also specified the exact type of cryptocurrency…

One even responded with his own poll…

If you receive money as a gift at Christmas, what’s your least favourite way to get it?

This poll comes as part of the BoE’s drive to develop the bank for the future, as part of their #FutureForumBoE campaign, collating user information pertaining to the way in which they use their money.

This seemingly innocuous poll then, is a not-so-veiled attempt at gathering the general sentiment surrounding cryptocurrencies; alluding that we may see some quite of crypro based initaive from the bank in the near future.
