Animoca Brands Acquires Australian Media Agency to Power Local NFT and Metaverse Brands
Hong-Kong based blockchain gaming firm Animoca Brands has acquired a major stake in Australian digital marketing agency Be Media to spearhead non-fungible tokens (NFT), blockchain development and metaverse partnerships for major Australian brands. Jordan Fogarty, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Be Media, will retain significant minority ownership and continue his role as CEO of the acquired entity with responsibility for all business operations. Fogarty was also one of the early investors in Animoca Brands. In line with its expanded scope after the acquisition, Be Media has begun an extensive hiring process in the fields of blockchain development and project management to support the expanding pipeline of opportunities that the company will handle. The company boasts of high-profile clients such as Audi, Harley Davidson, and Finbar. It is the third deal Animoca Brands has made in the past 10 days, having bought a majority stake in racing game studio Eden Games from Engine Gaming & Media and European computer game studio Darewise Entertainment which is currently developing a metaverse-based blockchain video game.
