Vitalik Buterin the founder of Ethereum and famous "non-giver of Ether" just gave away $100,000 in ETH, because, YOLO.

The funds were sent ot Prysmatic Labs afert one of their developer scompained about budget restrictions to vitalike in a tweet, prompting the prodigy to send over some of his personal stash:

Just sent 1000 eth. Yolo.https://t.co/s1q8K5Wlhs

Prior to this act of altruism, was a discussion surrounding the progress (or lack thereof) of Ethereum development.

The discourse was initiated after a statement from Fred Wilson - co-founder of Union Square Ventures - describing the shortfalls of Ethereum leadership:

Oct 2018 @fredwilson w/ "tough love" comments on Eth

TLDR; He says Ethereum isn't killing it, they're blowing their lead. They're wittling value away by missing ship dates & are lacking basic operational leadership to get shit down

What do you think?https://t.co/kclM08t5s6

This sparked others to comment on the supposed lack of progression from ethereum in areas including scaling. Buterin responded personally:

Hard to increase focus on scalability when we're close to 100% on that already....https://t.co/kil3rHFIb6

(And also the 1.x stuff on top of this for shorter-term scalability boosts)

In turn, Preston Van Loon, a developer at Prysmatic Labs - a client focused on the scaling issue – jumped into the fray, describing the hardships of developing with lack of funding, to which Vitalik responded by saying:

 “Just sent 1000 eth. Yolo.”

Accompanying his response was a link to etherscan providing proof of the transaction:

Unsupringly, Buterin was then inundated with funding requests; one of which he actually acquiesced to:

Guess I have to 🤣

(Though precommitment: this is the last one)

Buterin wasn’t finished with the altruism just yet, one last request caught his eye….

Sent you 100 TPT: https://t.co/ttL6bNjBTB

No idea what TPT is, just some random coin I got airdropped for some reason. So you can keep it.
