Router Protocol, an infrastructure layer enabling communication between blockchains, has added Arbitrum and Optimism to its platform, Invezz learned from a press release.
Its users can now exchange assets and transfer funds across networks with the largest TVL in cross-chain bridges (Avalanche C-chain, Fantom, Polygon) in addition to Optimism, Ethereum (ETH/USD), and Binance Smart Chain (BNB/USD).
Unlimited cross-chain token swaps and support
The integration provides access to improved interoperability features, such as token to token swap across chains and support for arbitrary tokens. This makes Router different from most cross-chain platforms, which allow trading of only certain assets.
You can carry out arbitrary token swaps on Router by aggregating liquidity across all the major DEXs on any given chain.
Settlement guarantee
Router Protocol makes sure user funds are never blocked and guarantees settlements of all transactions by providing users equivalent amounts of USDC or RUSDC. The latter can be redeemed 1:1 for USDC.
Mesh network
Router is developing a many-to-many mesh network instead of building one to one bridges which require dedicated links between chains. This network enables seamless data flow between various chains. Any chain can be added with a few lines of configuration.

Bug bounty program, security audits
Router has completed security audits from Certik and Halborn and a bug bounty program with leading firm Immunefi. It is currently undergoing a third audit from Hacken.
Among the security features built into its network are on-chain validation, modular smart contract architecture, dedicated proxy architecture, an isolated execution module, and more.
Validation is achieved on-chain, which is more secure than protocols using off-chain consensus. Transactions are executed on a stateless execution pallet, where direct interaction with the bridge reserves is avoided. This keeps malicious entities from accessing the reserve funds.
Governance proposal
Router also announced a governance proposal, asking the community to choose the next two EVM chains to be integrated. This event is an important step for Router Protocol to become a truly community-governed project.
