DigiByte (DGB), one of the leading open-source and highly decentralized distributed ledger technology (DLT) networks, has announced on May 4, 2020, that it’s looking for blockchain developers who can contribute to ongoing projects in its ecosystem. The team says some of the projects come with a bounty, while some others will help participating developers to familiarize themselves with DigiByte.

DigiByte Forging Ahead

Having successfully put in place the DigiByte Foundation earlier in February 2020, the DigiByte team is now inviting more blockchain developers to join its network and complete projects that will further strengthen its decentralized ecosystem.

DigiByte tweeted:

Digibyte is looking for developers who can help ongoing projects to dramatically improve Developer Engagement and Experience of the DigiByte blockchain.

As explained on its GitHub repository, developers will receive bounty rewards for some of the projects, while others will help participants to get familiar with the DigiByte blockchain network.

“A list of items that we want to do for DigiByte, some with/without bounties etc attached, and others simply as a great way to cut your teeth on DigiByte. Would you like to contribute? Open a pull request to modify the item and / or a GitHub issue to ask questions,” declared DigiByte.

Specifically, DigiByte has listed a total of 28 projects that need to be completed by the participating developers. These projects are divided into three major categories: “smaller action items, larger action items, and developer experience items.”

Breaking it Down

In the small action items category, developers will need to update the core wallet interface of DigiByte, create videos for the DigiByte website, develop a Document Notarization website, make it easier for DigiByte users to use the DigiExplorer, and Burn Assets on Android, among other projects.

Developers interested in the larger items category are required to Implement ProgPow on DigiByte, to bring GPU mining support the network, integrate Lightning network, Implement RandomX, and Merge Schnorr sigs, among other projects.

And lastly, in the third category, participants will need to complete a vast array of projects designed to promote Developer Engagement and Experience. The projects in this category include the creation of a Self Contained DigiByte Testnet CLI, JavaScript SDK, Developer Landing Site, and Developer Projects Showcase, among others.

In related news, earlier in January 2020, Jared Tate, the founder of DigiByte held a meeting with U.S. authorities in Washington DC, to discuss wider blockchain adoption.

More recently, on April 13, 2020, BTCManager informed that DigiByte and AntumID, the world’s first blockchain-based password generator powered by DigiByte, have joined the COVID-19 Alert! App consortium.

At press time, DigiByte’s native DBG altcoin is trading at $0.018029, with a market capitalization of $236.2 million, as seen on CoinMarketCap.
