Blockchain Service Network (BSN) will begin tests on cross-chain interoperability on its testnet by October according to the CEO of Red Date Yifan He.

Tests to Integrate Poly Enterprise

BSN will integrate Poly Enterprise, which is a cross-chain protocol as part of the tests. Poly Enterprise is backed by three blockchain networks, Ontology, Neo and Swticheo and is developed by OnChain a Chinese company that was founded by Neo co-founder Da Hongfei.

Developers will be able to have more options when creating products on the platform instead of limiting it to one cross-protocol. BSN is looking to make major gains with this test and intend to understand how different interoperability solutions work.

The tests are expected to begin late Octobers with developers able to utilize IRITA and Poly Enterprise framework to build decentralized apps (dApps) that are interoperable with other blockchain frameworks.

Irisnet is a Shanghai-based company behind IRITA, a permissioned blockchain development framework for enterprises built in the Cosmos ecosystem. The tests are expected to begin late Octobers with developers able to utilize IRITA and Poly Enterprise framework to build decentralized apps (dApps) that are interoperable with other blockchain frameworks.

These tests will be limited to BSN testnets for 3-4 months before moving to serve frameworks in production mode. If the tests are successful, the two protocols would form an inter-chain communication hub which would be a crucial architecture of the BSN platform.

Yifan He believes that because BSN’s underlying software is uniformly built, it will be easy to deploy and test interoperability solutions. “We can add a system-level solution easily onto all public city nodes of BSN. It will be much easier on BSN than on the open Internet,”

A Major Blockchain Project backed by China

Blockchain Service Network (BSN) is a blockchain project that was launched in 2019 as part of the Chinese government’s Global Blockchain strategy unveiled by China President Xi Jinping.

The platform was launched to foster cloud services and different chain protocols on city nodes. Furthermore, it has the aims of reducing the cost of blockchain application deployment and design while easing interoperability between chains.

BSN is backed by the China State Information Center, China Union Pay and Red Date Technology and integrated Ethereum blockchain on its platform in June as reported by BTCManager. When fully launched, it will be deployed globally through local cloud providers and aims to be a global internet of blockchains.
