The much-anticipated Vasil Hard Fork Event for the Cardano network has been postponed until next month after a few bugs were discovered.
Vasil Hard Fork Delayed to Next Month
According to an official blog post from Input-Output Global (IOG), the research and development of the Cardano Network announced that it has to postpone the Vasil upgrade to next month, as confirmed by lead developer Nigel Hemsley. https://twitter.com/InputOutputHK/status/1538987936972259329 Hemsley, who is the head of delivery and products, says that the much-anticipated upgrade “should not be rushed”, highlighting that quality and security are of “paramount” importance. This comes after an evaluation of the entire work on the Vasil upgrade was carried out yesterday, and a total of seven bugs were discovered. While none of the bugs are severe, the team is not willing to take any risk and noted that it still needs to examine a few items related to Vasil in the coming days.
No Impact on ADA's Price
The Cardano team will now roll out Vasil on the Cardano public testnet by the end of this month, which will run for a period of four weeks. After completing the necessary steps, IOG stated that the Vasil mainnet deployment will go live by the end of July 2022. The news of postponement hasn’t affected Cardano ADA's price with the cryptocurrency currently up 6.2% over the past 24 hours, according to data from CoinGecko.
